We just got a brand new computer. After losing my job, I planned to work online so I can stay home and take care of the kids while working. But the computer has been used for a lot of other reasons as well. We check our e-mails, we chat with my parents (my Mom is in Vienna, Austria and my Dad in Ilocos Norte), and (as we all know what computers can do) a whole lot more.
My mother-in-law, who lives just two doors away, would also come by and use the computer during her days-off. She normally just comes to check her e-mails and go back home. Until she was introduced to Facebook!
She didn't want to create an account at first, saying she doesn't know how. Then her brother created an account for her. Her usual 30-minute internet surfing suddenly turned to hours. That was when we found out we have a big rat inside our house. She would sometimes bring her food and eat here, other times, she rummages through our ref. Or sometimes she does both. Hahaha! She would bully my husband into making her a cup of freshly brewed coffee or she sneak over my shoulder while I'm cooking and pick on the food. She does those things while still working on the computer. After she's all done with the computer, she goes back to the ref... she then declares that there's no food in our house, then the rat leaves.
A rat is a rat no matter how small... errr... or big... You would normally hate a big rat inside your house, even if it was your mother-in-law, but my kids love being around her. They are spoiled by their Grandma. And besides, she loves to make us all laugh. She isn't the normal mother-in-law everybody has, she sits down with you, have a good laugh with you. I used to work with her, and some of her peers are even younger than I am. She has got some sort of a magnet that attracts people who wants to have a good time.
That's my mother-in-law, the big rat inside our house...
